Being True Doesn’t Make It Less Annoying
I’ve been trying to keep things in the comic a bit lighter this week, (no pun intended). After flipping through the last few weeks of strips, it has come to my attention that being back on my diet* is quite possibly, making me a little cranky.
More often than not I can muscle through this sort of thing, but for whatever reason, on this particular occasion, the cookie-crankies seem to have a solid hold on me.
This happens to the best of us, so I went to my favourite online sources for advice and they all seemed to come back with one, resounding answer; “get some more exercise”.
That is the DUMBEST THING I’VE EVER HEARD!
I’m already annoyed and you want me to console myself with a JOG?! That’s worse than getting the take-home prize on a game show!
“Sorry, you didn’t win the Supra, but here’s a case of Rice-A-Roni instead!”
You can’t tell me that you’re not smelling new car and tasting bitter defeat in every bite of that artificial flavour.
Oh sure, just because it’s true, you can get all “logical” and “sciencey” on me and talk about how exercise releases endorphins that make us feel better and the pride that comes with choosing well, not to mention overall improvement in physical well-being, bla bla bla. But I can’t hear you because I’ll be at the gym!
