As always, lots of great costumes and boundless enthusiasm, but the crowds were so thick it really wasn’t easy to catch a lot of it. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with photos at the Word On The Street festival in a few weeks.

Wrapped up another Toronto Fan Expo last night. This was definitely our craziest show yet.  The convention center was PACKED. Apparently they set a record for numbers in attendance this year. They even extended our hours on Saturday to accommodate the poor folks who had already purchased tickets but couldn’t get in for waiting so long.  My heart really goes out to everyone stuck in those line ups.  I hope you all know how much we appreciate your tenacity.

The best part of convention weekends is always the people and this one was particularly outstanding for me. I got caught up with some old friends and met some awesome new people. (Special shout-out to Alex and the Coven – Woot!) Satisfied my own internal fan-girl by getting Darwyn Cooke to sign my copy of Parker, (Such a great book!) and had a nice chat with Ramon Perez, (if you’re not reading Kukuburi you’re seriously missing out.) Even the long drive was made easier with the company of new friends, Eric (Aardehn) and Annette.

Speaking of awesome old friends: Jim Zubkavich is getting ready for the launch of his big new project, Skullkickers. Coming September 22nd.

“It’s a fantasy action-comedy about two mercenaries who are too stupid to stop and too tough to die.”

Looking forward to that.

I’d best be getting back to the drawing board here, but I will get photos up on the facebook page as soon as I have a minute, and thanks again to everyone who stopped by the table and to our always-excellent neighbours, I think I can speak for Brain as well when I say we’re already looking forward to next year.

Google it, I’m not making that up.

Truthfully, I don’t even like bananas, but out of  respect for the banana’s contribution to decades of comedy, I jumped on the bandwagon and did a banana comic.

In other news; this is the big weekend for Toronto Fan Expo!

Brian and I will be parked in Artist’s Alley with the Kitchen boys again sketching our little fingers off. I’m looking forward to it enormously, along with the Promises mini, I’ve put together a little sketchbook of some of the work I did for Utopia Kingdoms and Legends of Zork. Hope to see y’all there!

So, I say go have a burger! After all, everybody knows good karma cancels out fat and food for charity has zero calories!

The move went as well as any move can. It’s always a disorganized process that takes longer than you think, but no losses or damages, so I call that a win…The toll it took on my diet however – BLUGH! I’ll save that for a weekend weigh-in post.

It’s been so great getting back into the comic. It’s one of those things that you don’t realize how much you miss doing until you start back up. Which brings me to messing with the RSS feeder(s)… again. I’m still back-dating the comics. Partly because I have all of these pencil drawings that I started but never got a chance to finish before the move and the freelance onslaught, that are pretty seasonal, but mostly because I also haven’t finished writing anything new in a while. I’ve been finishing up and posting the more neutral strips to get the ball rolling, but I had the Easter one, and it was really bugging me that I never posted it. I was hemming and hawing about it so much my buddy Mike finally told me just to suck it up and post it. So I’m dating it to April 2nd and shoving it into the archives and getting over myself about it. If you’re one of my RSS subscribers, (hi Mom!) don’t mind the Easter joke…just think of it as a sign of the resurrection of the comic.

It’s an incredibly maddening experience.  So I went through all of my links and bookmarks and killed a bunch, (not that I can prove it) I suspect could be the hosts of my computer badness. The first of which was the Baroness’s forumspring account.  As I said, I can’t prove it, but this whole mess started when I set that thing up so out it goes!  Too bad though,  it was great to interact a bit with you readers.  To that end, I’m still open to comments on the site or the facebook page, and I do my best to reply to emails promptly. Thanks again to all who posted questions, it was fun while it lasted.
