ARTISTS HELP JAPAN: TORONTO – A fundraiser for earthquake and tsunami relief

On Sunday April 17th, Imaginism and the Beguiling will be hosting a fund raiser benefiting disaster relief in Japan through the Canadian Red Cross.

This twelve hour event will feature live art shows, a silent auction, dozens of artists and illustrators selling commissioned drawings. All fees will be donated entirely to the Canadian Red Cross. I’m delighted and honoured to be counted among the artists who will be there. I will be drawing alongside my friends the amazing Eric Vedder, Brian Evinou, and Jim Zub. I’m also contributing the original art work from two of my favourite Promises Promises comics; Hint and Gotta Run as well as some prints of Breezy Tree Pose to the silent auction. I’m not certain if he’s drawing that day, but sculptor Ted Heeley has donated a commission for one of his portrait or caricature busts. He’s absolutely brilliant; that bust will be a real treasure to the person who wins the bid.

Dozens more cartoonists will donate original art, books, and other rare items, there will be live art demonstrations from Toronto Illustrators on stage, with the final pieces to be auctioned off live and one dollar from the sale of every drink at Revival Bar will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross.

Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.
