I’ve been preparing for my very first trip off-continent. I’m very excited about it and it’s only seven days away!
Fit Bottomed Girls did a great post, 5 Tips For Eating Healthy While Traveling. Advice that comes in very handy, especially if you’re planning one of those healthy get-aways like, trail biking, rock climbing, yoga retreats etc. Which, I’m sure are awesome and I’d guess, are the kind of vacations you’d expect someone who draws comics about fitness, would really be into…
Yeah, no.
So, while packing steamed veg and practicing hotel yoga is a great idea, I’m going to be at the Speyside Whisky Festival instead! If any of my Scottish readers are going to be there, I’ll be the one, either asleep or singing, on the front lawn of the Macallan Distillery. With a straw.
Alright, alcoholic humour aside, I’ve got a bit of a taste for Scotch, there’s an awful lot of craftsmanship and history there and it’s something I’d like to learn more about. Also, this festival looks amazing! There’s classes on nosing, tasting and pairing, tours of the distilleries, walking trails (the photos are gorgeous!), live music, archery, clay pigeon shooting, artisan workshops and I get to see my friend, Bev, who I haven’t seen in years – SO MUCH STUFF! Ok, and I like castles. Scotland has lots of castles. (squeeee!)
So, what does this mean for the site?
Well, we’ll likely be talking about liver cleanses when I get back but otherwise, I’ve been scrambling to get ahead on the comics so they should still be posting on schedule. My friend Joel over at Starcrossed will be keeping an eye on things so if something goes wrong please let him know.
The Promises Shop will still be taking orders and holding them in file, but obviously I won’t be processing any until I get back. So, if you want something shipped before I go, please have your order in by Friday, April 27th for books, Wednesday, April 25th for commissions and prints.
